Materials
Nougat
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- ⅔ cup canna sugar
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp water
- ⅓ cup corn syrup
Caramel nut filling
- 30 Kraft caramels or 1 cup of melted homemade caramel
- 2 tbsp canna butter
- ¾ of lightly salted roasted peanuts, or plain roasted
Chocolate coating
- 1 cup of milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup of chocolate candy coating
Instructions
- Crack one egg and add only the white part to a medium sized bowl.
- Using a stand or hand mixer, beat the eggs for about five to six minutes on a high setting. Your eggs will become foamy at first and then turn into a thick, creamy consistency. Keep beating the eggs until you can make stiff peaks and then set it aside.
- In a medium sized pot on medium heat, add ⅔ cup of canna sugar, ¼ tbsp of salt, 1 tbsp of water, and 1/3 cup of corn syrup, and combine. Let the mixture heat on the stove. You don't need to stir the mixture until it comes to a boil. Once it reaches the boil, continue to stir until the mixture reaches 250 degrees Fahrenheit. This step is very important because if you remove the sugar too soon, the nougat will melt and flatten the chocolate in the end.
- While the sugar is reaching 250 degrees, spray a couple disposable loaf pans with cooking spray. Spray lightly because too much will cause the nougat to slide in the pan.
- Once the sugar reaches 250 degrees, let it sit for 2-3 minutes, then carefully remove the pot from the stove and slowly start to drizzle the sugar mixture into the egg white. Make sure the sugar is not too hot because it'll cook the eggs. You also don't want it to get too cool because it will start to harden pretty quickly.
- Use a mixer to combine on high until you get a thick, creamy mixture.
- Add the nougat mixture to each loaf pan and quickly add them to the freezer for four to eight hours or until rock hard. I use Werther's original chewy caramels, but I would recommend using the hard version instead of the chewy if you can find them.
- Add about 1 cup or 25 to 30 caramels to a medium sized bowl and microwave in for about 32nd intervals until melted. You can also use a double boiler to melt if you don't have a microwave.
- Once melted, add 2 tbsp of that canna butter and stir until combined. You may need to add the caramel back to the microwave to help combine both.
- Add 1 cup of salted peanuts and stir until combined. If your mixture starts to thicken, just add it back to the microwave for about 15 seconds.
- Remove each loaf pan from the freezer and add the caramel mixture on top. Spread the caramel across each loaf pan until you have an even layer across both. Then put the pans back in the freezer for two to three hours.
- Just before taking the nougat and caramel layer out of the freezer, you want to start melting the chocolate. I'm using three pieces of chocolate coating and one cup of milk chocolate chips.
- Add the chocolate to a double boiler or melt in the microwave. I wouldn't recommend infusing the chocolate for this recipe unless you're experienced in infusing chocolate because you don't want the chocolate to be too soft or melt.
- When melted, remove the nougat and caramel layer from the loaf pan. It should be nice and hard and if you use the cooking spray, it should be easy to remove.
- Place the nougat and caramel layer on a cutting board with the nougat side up and cut one and a half inch pieces.
- Using a fork, dip each piece in the chocolate and coat each side and then place it on a cookie sheet line with parchment paper with the nougat side facing up. Don't worry about being neat, just try to move fast before the chocolate starts to thicken. But if it does, just put it in the microwave for about 10 to 15seconds and loosen it up a bit.
- Continue this process until each piece is coated and add them back to the freezer for about an hour.

Notes
(Optional)
If you want your Snickers to have a textured look, reheat the leftover of chocolate in the microwave for 20 seconds and remove the chocolate from the freezer. Drizzle the milk chocolate over the Snickers, and when finished, just add them back to the freezer for another 45 minutes.
After 45 minutes, remove the Snickers and they should look nice and pretty. Start trimming the chocolate off the side of each snicker bar until all your Snicker shave a nice clean edge, and you have cannabis infused snicker bars.
